Vertegy's Top Project Receives Two Awards

St. Louis, Mo., June 15, 2006…Vertegy, a sustainability-consulting firm, today announced that its premier project, Alberici Corporate Headquarters in Overland, Mo., received two awards for its outstanding sustainable design. The awards included the Missouri Recycling Association’s (MORA) Outstanding Corporate Leadership Recycling and Green Building Award, and the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (COTE) Award. Alberici Corporate Headquarters, which is today recognized as the greenest building in the world, has been certified Platinum under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system, earning 60 points, the highest credit level awarded to date worldwide by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Vertegy accepted the MORA award on behalf of Alberici due to its role as the driving force behind the sustainable design and LEED certification of the project. MORA supports waste reduction and recycling efforts in Missouri by providing information, educational opportunities, and technical support in partnership with state, national and regional organizations.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) COTE award recognized the Alberici headquarters building for its green design leadership and for having an environment that fosters creativity and teamwork. The project was ranked on the AIA’s "2006 Top Ten Green Design Projects."

Thomas Taylor, principal of Vertegy said, “It’s an honor to have this project recognized for its outstanding sustainable design. It’s a real tribute to Vertegy’s hard work, creativity and determination to make Alberici’s headquarters stand out from other projects out there.”
