The Security Building project was partially funded by the National Park Service and Brownfield tax credits. Originally built in 1890, it is one of the few LEED certified buildings also on the National Register of Historic Buildings.

The Lawrence Group occupies the building and is its largest tenant. The developer of this project also serves as the project architect and was compelled to “go green” after a presentation by Vertegy. The decision allowed integration of the design and construction and helped to convert a once condemned building to a “class-A” office space and conference center, with a focus on sustainability.
